Storing Materials
You should take care to store all stone and mortar in a dry and safe manner. Mortar particularly should be kept covered and dry, avoiding contact with water until mixing for use.

Tools & Safety Gear
Prior to starting work, check you have the required tools and safety gear to ensure proper and safe installation of Viridian Stone.

Take care to ensure that access equipment, ladders and scaffolding have been installed correctly and are in good working order. Refer to manufacturers safe working instructions for grinders, mixers and any other electrical or mechanical equipment.

Minimum Safety Equipment Required

  • Safety boots
  • Hard hat
  • Work gloves
  • Safety glasses
  • Hi-visibility jacket

Equipment likely to be required

  • Hand grinder or suitable masonry saw for cutting of stone
  • Wide mouth nippers or hatchet for trimming of stone
  • Petrol or electric mortar mixer or drill & whist for mixing mortar
  • Pointing gun and metal or wooden jointing tool for finishing joints
  • Stiff brush (not metal) for removing loose mortar & cleaning stones
  • Spirit level for levelling of stone when installing
  • Masons trowel for applying mortar
  • Other: hammer, wheelbarrow, margin trowel
